Crazy Diet Plans – how to choose the best one?
In the next few years, unless something is done about it, we’re going to be seeing a lot of Americans become obese. In fact, it is estimated AND predicted that North American obesity will skyrocket around 150 million people by the year 2015.
That is an alarming number for obesity, especially since that only counts for North American Adults.
In fact, more than 20 years ago, taking us back to 1985, obesity wasn’t that much of a problem. Food options were somewhat different and Fast Food choices were limited to a few. But as the years progressed and the decades exchanged hands, we started to see more obesity in many parts of North America. This is in the year 2003 and above.
Here in Canada, the overweight epidemic cost to the health care system was only $1.8 billion in 1997. However, that number shot up quickly to $4.3 billion.
Now that’s just Canada. But what about the U.S? The country is much, MUCH larger than Canada.
So, the search is on for a solution.
Just about every year, almost more than 150 “Weight Management Plans” come out. What is up with that?? Honestly, something is happening and human beings are now having health conditions all over the spectrum of health uncertainty.
We’ve seen plans ranging from many brands that require you to eat only Grapefruit; some are dangerous like the meat-only and cabbage soup diets. Then there are those that rely on Herbal supplements and other clinical diet programs that not only cost an arm and a leg, they also do not guarantee results.
What’s alarming, Child obesity has followed suit and tripled since the early 80′s. That was a great time to have a mullet and rock out to either a Michael Jackson or Def Leppard song. But everyone looked sexy back then.
Being overweight can be a huge problem, not just with how you look, but how it affects your entire anatomy. There are many, many MEDICAL HAZARDS linked to being overweight, such as:
- High Blood Pressure
- Heart Disease
- Diabetes
- Sleep Apnea
- Respiratory problems
- Atherosclerosis
- Gallbladder disease
- Hernia
- Psychological problems
- Cancer
- and much more.
God forbid, most doctors may prescribe medication to treat those symptoms but may not always investigate the cause. Word to the wise!
There is also a health risk linked to the kind of shape your obese body looks like. If your body looks like a pear (meaning around the hips), you have somewhat of a little chance of medical conditions (but it still is risky.) However, if you have an “Apple” shape body, then you are in the hazard zone for heart problems and more.
There are three types of fat: Intra-Cavity (which is within the confines of your organs; Reserve Fat which is closer to your skin; and Subcutaneous Fat, or another name for it being “Cellulite.”
Just about 90% of women have Cellulite. This results in fat layers increasing up to 300 times their original size. It’s very important to know the causes though, such as hormonal changes.
Visceral Fat, however, is the most fatal of all the fats. This somewhat exists within the Intra-Cavity region. If this is not taken care of seriously, you can be subject to all sorts of dangerous medical conditions, such as insulin resistance, heart conditions and cancer.
In a 2003 study by the American cancer society, one out of six CANCER related deaths are due to being overweight. It also doubles the risk of breast cancer.
Now, to the Popular POOR choices in Weight Management.
Very Low Fat Diet:
All fat is treated like an enemy, including good fats. This kind of diet can lead to Auto Immune disorders as well as Brain disorders.
Xenical:
This is prescribed and can interfere with the digestive system. If taken, it can lead to the fatal conditions like the above mentioned low fat diet.
Ephedra, Mahuang, Betaine & other dangerous ingredients:
These WORK, but the side effects are very FATAL. Heart conditions, blood pressure, sleep pattern interference, Parkinson’s disease. The Food and Drug Administration has reported several deaths associated with these types of products.
High Protein, Low Carb Diets:
Another popular one, this can lead to Ketosis, which is dangerous to your health. It may lead to Kidney damage, quick breakdown of body protein and bone, plus “passing of the wind” and other gastrointestinal conditions. You need carbohydrates to break down protein.
Low Calorie Diets:
You are sacrificing your health to be thin (thus the phrase, “Fashion before Fitness”). This can lead to the atrophy of muscles. When I say muscles, i also mean your vein muscles, your heart muscles and other organs of your body.
Fat Cleansing Diet programs:
This kind of program goes with the approach of cleansing, but it doesn’t repair muscle. Although it can work, If taken longer without repairing muscle, it can eventually become ineffective.
So, what is a better solution that is not dangerous??
To better understand this, you need to know that your muscles are your METABOLIC engine. Calories are burned in your muscles. in fact, when you exercise, you increase the size of your ability to burn calories.
We have to also understand that Protein builds muscle; we have over 640 muscles in our body.
Most diets do not provide enough protein, so people will lose both muscle and fat – which is FATAL.
Many diets work for a while, but then the pounds to creep back, bringing with it REINFORCEMENTS. So basically, you gain an extra 5 pounds of FAT. If you continue down this road, 10 years from now you will be 50 pounds heavier!
So what is the solution again?
You should choose a program that, besides losing inches and losing weight, you should be able to:
- Lower Cholesterol Levels
- Lower Triglyceride Levels
- Lower Elevated Blood Sugar Levels
- and help Normalize Blood pressure
There is only one program that we’ve been able to use that has worked time and time again. Even Diabetics and people with heart diseases have been successful with this program.
It is called CINCH. It is produced by a company called Shaklee and addresses all the health factors involved. It is powered by an amino acid called leucine, which holds onto muscle while you build it during exercise.
With this program I was able to lose 45 pounds and 3 inches during a 3-month span. My bone density improved and got heavier, which is a good thing. Which means be aware of your weighing scales; it can give you inaccurate readings.
The important thing is to cut the inches of fat on your body. A tape measure, which is not that expensive, is a greater indicator of how much fat you have reduced.
Getting started is even a “Cinch“. If this intrigues you, drop us a line for more information.
